The August 9 monthly Chamber meeting featured Manor Police Department's Chief Ryan Phipps as the guest speaker.
Business focus presentations were made by Carl Shay representing Hiland Dairy and Luis Medina representing Fastmed Urgent Care located in the Medical Towers at Shadowglen. A distribution center for Hiland Dairy is located at 14225 Suncrest Drive. Members of the Chamber and two members of the Manor City Council attended Breakthrough Central Texas middle school presentations at Decker Middle School on July 26.
For the past 5 weeks, Manor ISD students in grades 6-8 have been working on in-depth projects to prepare brief presentations to community members. Participating today included Manor City Council members Deja Hill and Maria Amezcua and Chamber members Nancy Boatright, Rachel Fausett, Randall Godfrey, Cathryn Godfrey, Gabriel Nila, Ted Price and Vicki McFarland.

A ribbon cutting was held on July 24 for Lazy Ass Farm located at 8201 Cele Road. The farmland has been in the same family since 1879 and five generations of the Gault family attended the ceremony, The Farm sells lavender neck pillows, satchels and bundles of lavender, lavender candles as well as honey from their own hives. The Farm is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 1pm.
